The Bobcat Society "Gathering" of 2008 took place in Phoenix, Arizona and was beautifully hosted by Randy and Kathy Harris.
They've did quite a bit of very hard work on behalf of the Bobcat Society to make this another memorable event you didn't want to miss.
This years 'Gathering' began with all the greetings and salutations at an exceptional hotel ~ The Embassy Suites of Phoenix. This place well suited our needs tremendously. The hotel and its staff was nothing short of terrific. Regardless of any problem, Randy and Kathy made sure everything was just right. This is a great hotel, with a great location and great people, and great hosts. On behalf of the Society I thank all involved.

We checked into the hotel, got a bit of rest ~ then found the bunker to see who else from the Bobcat Society was already there. We were surprised by some new faces, and welcomed them into our fold. Then more of our Brother and Sister 'Bobcats' will got there to greet us with warm, welcoming hugs (a few kisses).
Suggestions were made to get together as a group for dinner at a local eating place for a special, wonderful treat of a 'Southwestern' meal. Even though we had to pay for this on our own, we had plenty of good company to enjoy our meal. A special treat awaited us at the hotel for the early evening which I won't reveal here ~ if you received the newsletter, then you know what that was.

We enjoyed a hearty made to order breakfast then headed out to 'Old Town Scottsdale' for some authentic western goods. You could find everything you might have needed whether for gifts or souveniers at this place. Back to the hotel for the ladies Chinese Auction. After dinner we had the most entertaining Society Auction hosted by George. These affairs are hilarious to say the least, and this one was no different. George's only request was to keep items on a patriotic theme ~ he's had to auction off some very wierd things in the past.

Again, we started out with a great breakfast and then we headed out to a local museum and some sight seeing. There were shopping malls and other specialty stores within close proximity of the hotel.
Dinner was hosted at the hotel and you'll had your choice of 'Filet of Salmon' topped with plum tomatoes, basil and lemon wrapped in panchette ~ or maybe your preference was 'Chicken Marsala' which is a boneless breast of chicken saut'eed with mushrooms and Marsala wine. Either way you were sure to be pleased.
After dinner a most special time of the Gathering ~ The Fragging! This is always a main event for our Society. Did you get your vote in on who won?
Saturday ~ 21 June 2008
After breakfast we started this day with our annual Memorial Service ~ this year it was at the State House Grounds. We had the extreme pleasure of having the Honor Guard from a local American Legion to join us. These events are always a very moving experience.
Lunch was at the Legion and, as always, complimented by the the Bobcat Ladies (The Bobbycats).
Next was more free time until we gathered for a 'Gourmet' dinner at the hotel, which was a great treat for many of us. It's called the "Southwest Barbeque" and included 'New York Strip Steak', 'BBQ Chicken', and slow roasted 'Baby Backed Ribs'. Just help yourselves.
We'll then had Awards, Presentations, and least we forget ~ the most pretigious "Shit Burners Award".
Sunday ~ 22 June 2008
This is the day set aside for hugs, kisses, and so longs till next year ~ not to mention doing some R&R as we let the happenings of the past week sink in.
